The Nightfall version of the Mad Battle Man vinyl figure will release to vinyl collectors across the globe this Monday here at recklesstoys.com. From the richly complex imagination of artist Mike Sutfin, the figure stands at over 9 inches tall and is one of the most meticulously detailed figures of the genre. This dramatic, black-and-white colorway features white paint and silver spray on gloss-black vinyl. To achieve this photonegative effect, Sutfin handpainted a master copy, which was sent to the factory along with a detailed file illustrating the paint process. There, it was carefully recreated, spray for spray, brushstroke for brushstroke. The amount of handwork that was required for production of the piece, as it was for the original Dusk colorway, is remarkable. The Mad Battle Man Nightfall edition will sell for $99, plus shipping.

After over a year in development, artist Mike Sutfin's first soft vinyl toy, the MadBattleMan, is ready to be released to toy heads across the planet. The first colorway, which Sutfin has deemed "Dusk," is absolutely stunning -- easily one of the most elaborate production paint jobs in the history of the genre. On top of a mango-orange vinyl, Mr. Sutfin painstakingly hand-painted a model for the factory and provided a 14-step instruction file, both of which were used to make a spray-for-spray, brushstroke-for-brushstroke replication of his masterpiece. The production paint job is shown here, and the sheer amount of handcraft on this piece is extraordinary.
